Shadow Portraits

Develop drawing techniques and understanding of facial proportions.

Shadow Portraits:--One child is appointed as the artist.

Then each child takes a turn to be seated near the wall to have the outline of his head, which is cast by a lamp, traced by the artist upon a piece of white paper, pinned to the wall. 

These outlines are cut out by an assistant, and the name of the player written on the back. 

The papers are then fastened to a dark object and the players are
called upon to guess the names of the originals,

Note. Using black paper and a white pencil is traditional.
